Sony!!

Okay when I think of Sony I think of superior products. Well that is not at all the case when it comes to their cameras. We bought a Sony when we first got married and we practically paid an arm and a leg for it. Of course you can now get cameras a lot cheaper with higher resolution and much faster speed.

Anyhow, I was going to post my pics from Halloween when I realized my camera was not working. For some reason it won't turn on. The hubby took the whole camera apart trying to figure out what was wrong with it and of course he's no expert on fixing cameras so to my dismay I knew the camera was caput. So instead of trying to fix this camera that cost me a small fortune I'm going to have to buy another camera. However, this time I will not be buying Sony I am looking at a Canon camera this time.

So here's hoping for some Thanksgiving pictures. I am trying to decide whether I should wait to see the black friday deals before buying a camera. Let's just hope my video camera which by the way is also a Sony doesn't go out too.

Mission Trip

Last week we took the high school kids to Abbeville, Louisiana to help restore houses destroyed by Katrina. I really expected to see a lot of devastation but I was surprised when we got there. The town seemed normal and all the businesses were open and people were out and about. You wouldn't have known that Katrina had hit if it wasn't for some lingering FEMA trailers. Don't get me wrong the city had seen better days I'm sure but you could tell a lot of rebuilding had gone. The sad part was we were here 2 years later to still clean up and help people out.

I'm glad that I got to go on this mission trip with the youth. Whenever I go on a mission I feel excommunicated from the rest of the world. You don't think about home or your family you really just focus on your work and the people around you. I don't know how to explain it but it's always an awesome feeling to help someone out. The kids on my team were great!!! I could not have asked for a better team. We really had a good time and I felt so much closer to the kids. I realize how much of an impact we adults make on our youth. One of the girls mother told me when we got back that her daughter had a hard time adjusting. She said that she had a meltdown the first night back. She didn't realize that people could live the way they do. She had no idea the poverty that exists in our own country. She also wanted to do more, she felt that she needed to do something else. When her mom told me this I felt a sense of pride come over me. Pride because I was so excited to know that she actually took something away from this experience. Not only did she get it but she wanted to do more. Maybe because I'm a mom now but I feel proud of Chuck's youth and I get excited to watch them grow.

Chuck will be leaving again this week for another mission in the valley. I won't be attending this one but I know that God will continue to work through them this week. I pray for an awesome experience and a safe trip.
